i picked this book up yesterday , its a wonderful reference for facial expressions and has pictures of all kinds of expressions from multiple angles. Definitely a must have for every animator.

The cartoon museum in san francisco has this awesome exhibit going on called "Gross , Gruesome and Gothic" , If you are in town make sure you stop by , its worth the admission just for Eric Powell's "The Goon" alone.
